Inauguration Announcement
Padimai Art & Tech Studio, Singapore
2025-11-20
Under embargo until November 20, 2025
Padimai Art & Tech Studio at Tanjong Pagar Distripark in Singapore launches with Your view matter, an immersive artwork by the world-renowned artist Olafur Eliasson, on November 19, 2025.
Singapore’s newest cultural initiative, Padimai Art & Tech Studio, will open its doors this November at Tanjong Pagar Distripark with a presentation of Olafur Eliasson’s virtual-reality artwork Your view matter (2022/2025), marking the launch of an experimental space dedicated to exploring the convergence of art, social practice, and technology. Padimai Art & Tech Studio is founded by Vignesh Sundaresan (Metakovan), a blockchain architect and art collector whose pioneering work in decentralised systems has redefined the relationship between art and digital culture. As an independent entity, the Studio will serve as a site for experimentation, residencies, commissions, and exhibitions that examine new artistic and technological practices.
Its first exhibition presents an artwork by Eliasson, commissioned by Sundaresan. In Your view matter (2022/2025), Eliasson invites participants to move through six virtual environments shaped after the five Platonic solids and a sphere. Within each, animated moiré patterns pulse and shift in response to movement, accompanied by a minimalist soundtrack composed by the artist. The work transforms perception into an embodied, spatial act, extending Eliasson’s exploration of light, geometry, and the viewer’s role in creating meaning.
“‘Your view matter’ invites you to physically grasp how technologies intertwine with our capacity to see and to co-produce what we see. It’s a process of unlearning and relearning how vision works, involving not only vision but also the movement of your head, body, and brain. In this way, I hope the artwork acts as a host for your self-awareness, inviting you to ‘listen’ and ‘speak’ with your eyes.”
The presentation of Your view matter features seven VR headsets, each within a four-metre diameter that allows visitors to move freely while exploring the artwork. Each encounter generates a unique data file that records the participant’s trajectory and perspective. These files are preserved in a blockchain-based archive conceived by Sundaresan, a decentralised, physically stored system capable of “playing back and playing forward” every recorded journey while maintaining the exact digital state of the artwork.
“‘Your view matter’ is both a virtual experience and a continuously expanding digital archive, an evolving record of human perception and participation held within a decentralised network of collective memory. This living archive embodies the mission of Padimai Art & Tech Studio, which seeks to build infrastructures where art and technology coexist as tools for autonomy, memory, and imagination. At Padimai, we see technology not as a mechanism of control, but as a framework for creative sovereignty, a means for artists and communities to hold, share, and preserve their work on their own terms. The blockchain archive reflects this principle and functions as a simulacra of the artwork, capable of being played back and forward, allowing us to remember and re-experience creative acts in their full integrity.”
Your view matter by Olafur Eliasson is presented at Padimai Art & Tech Studio from 20 November through to the end of March. Entry is free.
A press preview will take place on Wednesday 19 November 2025 from 2.30 pm. The media kit can be accessed here.

About Padimai Art & Tech Studio
Padimai Art & Tech Studio is an independent, experimental space dedicated to explore the evolving relationship between art, social practices, and technology. Founded by Vignesh Sundaresan, also known as Metakovan, Padimai exists as both a physical site and an intellectual framework, a space where artists, technologists, and thinkers come together to imagine new modes of creation, collaboration, and cultural preservation through exhibitions, residencies, and commissions. Conceived as a decentralised entity, it builds infrastructures that support creative sovereignty, enabling artists and collectives to operate with freedom and self-determination in an increasingly mediated world. One such infrastructure is an evolving blockchain-based archive that traces and preserves artistic encounters as part of a shared digital commons, a direct reflection of Vignesh Sundaresan’s commitment to accessibility and to the continual redefinition of what art can be. At its heart, Padimai Art & Tech Studio is a space for experimentation and reflection, where art and technology converge to shape new futures, new freedoms, and new forms of collective imagination.
About Vignesh Sundaresan (Metakovan)
Vignesh Sundaresan is a blockchain technologist, entrepreneur, and art collector who bridges digital innovation and contemporary culture. Known as Metakovan, he has been instrumental in shaping global conversations around decentralisation, creative sovereignty, and the use of blockchain as cultural infrastructure. As the Founder Director of Padimai Art & Tech Studio, Sundaresan advances a vision of technology as a tool for inclusivity and collective authorship. His projects explore how blockchain can sustain artistic practices, protect creative data, and empower communities to imagine alternative futures for art and technology.
About Olafur Eliasson
An artist whose practice explores perception, movement, and embodied experience as ways of engaging with the world, Olafur Eliasson works across sculpture, painting, photography, film, installation, and virtual and augmented reality, creating environments that heighten sensory awareness and examine the relationship between self and surroundings. With major exhibitions and large-scale public installations around the world, his work extends into architecture, education, and climate action, using art as a means to inspire collective reflection and action, while his studio in Germany offers a collaborative space for artistic and spatial research. Eliasson has several exhibitions opening in the Asia-Pacific, including Your curious journey at the Museum MACAN in Jakarta, Indonesia, which opens in November 2025, and Olafur Eliasson: Presence at the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) in Brisbane, Australia, which opens in December 2025.
About Your view matter
Commissioned by Vignesh Sundaresan (Metakovan) Your view matter (2022 / 2025) is a virtual-reality artwork by Olafur Eliasson that invites visitors to move through a sequence of six geometric environments. Within these forms, animated patterns respond to bodily movement accompanied by a minimalist soundscape created by the artist, merging perception, geometry, and rhythm and transforming observation into an active, spatial experience. The work also reflects on how our interactions with technology can be held, shared, and remembered: each encounter generates a unique data file that traces the movements and interactions within the virtual space. A blockchain-based archive conceived by Vignesh Sundaresan then acts as a simulacra, with the ability to “play back and play forward” every recorded journey while maintaining the precise digital state of the artwork. This decentralised system offers a unique model of data sovereignty: a means to store and steward our creative artworks independently of corporate cloud infrastructures and an alternative to conventional data regimes.
