We are pleased to introduce Yara El Turk, one of the five artists selected for OOPS: Origin Of Primary Source, Padimai Art & Tech Studio’s first Onchain Artist Residency. Yara El Turk is a Lebanese visual artist, writer, and researcher whose practice employs surrealist automatism to interrogate algorithmic systems. Through black ink drawings, she explores ways of resisting categorisation and extraction. Her work has been exhibited at Galerie Janine Rubeiz and recognised by the Luxembourg Art Prize, while she has also collaborated on art projects with Waterlution Canada. In 2026, she was awarded first place in the ActEU ‘Act for Democracy’ Policy Contest for her work on Digital Democratic Infrastructure. She is also a Peace Ambassador with the Institute for Economics & Peace and holds an MA in Intercultural Business Communication from EMUNI, Slovenia.
